I will share those images with you here.Īt the time of writing, the weather has become much warmer in South Korea and these trips might be it for my winter adventures for the meantime. However, there were some shots that I felt were more/also suitable in black and white. My main images from these trips are in color. Aside from the peaks, we were also able to explore a bit of the surrounding farming villages. The second trip was up to the town of Danyang, which is most famous for the picturesque Dodam Sambong Peaks (도담삼봉). The first trip was to Jeolla province, which included Gwanghallu Pavilion (광한루) in Namwon, Baekyangsa (백양사) in Jangseong, and various areas around the town of Damyang. Keeping a close watch on the weather, I was able to make two trips to Korea’s winter wonderland.

There was no tropical island trip for me this winter, but at least that gave me the chance to photograph a bit of Korea in the snow. However as we all know, 2020’s pandemic situation threw the whole world for a loop and international travel has become quite difficult. Moreover, I’m typically home for a month in the Philippines every winter which has (delightfully) caused me to miss the peak cold in South Korea pretty much every year. The primary reason is because I live on the southern coast of the Korean peninsula, where we don’t get much snow at all. Prior to 2020, snowscapes were something I hadn’t really photographed extensively.
